Our Process

On-Site Consultation

We start each project by meeting with you on the property. During this visit, we identify the trees involved and review the surrounding conditions, such as buildings, utilities, and nearby vegetation, to ensure the job can be completed safely and to the highest possible standard.

Tree Assessment and Proposal

After identifying the trees, we review the client’s concerns and explain what work may be required. This discussion covers possible treatments, expected outcomes, and the costs and benefits of each option. You will then be provided with a written proposal outlining the work to be completed.

Tree Permits and Local Requirements

Before a project can be initiated, tree work in Ottawa may require permits or be subject to city bylaws. We explain any rules related to private trees, boundary trees, or city-owned trees. We guide you through these steps and handle the process where required. You can learn more about requirements on the City of Ottawa website.

On-site Work

Every project begins with a tailboard meeting to review the scope of work, site hazards, safety procedures, and emergency planning. Once the team is aligned, we establish a secure work zone using cones, caution tape, and other safety measures as needed.

The time required for the work depends on the type of service being completed, the condition and location of the tree, and site accessibility. Whether we are pruning, cabling, rigging, or removing a tree, all work is performed using ISA best practices. Throughout the project, branches and debris are processed and removed, with a full site cleanup completed at the end of the job.

Post-work Services

Some projects require ongoing monitoring or follow-up care after the work is completed. This may include cable inspections, routine maintenance, or reassessing tree health over time.

For clients with tree inventories, we also provide updated assessments to monitor changes in tree condition and ensure records and recommendations remain current.
